Have you ever tasted homemade spaghetti sauce? The real thing! Not the off the shelf jar, but the kind that only your mother can make? Growing up in an Italian home provided the benefit of having home-made spaghetti sauce. It’s simply the best. Some off the shelf tomato sauces try their best to imitate what’s homemade. Prego’s slogan is “It’s in there!” helping us believe that whatever mother would do, we would do to make it the best tasting. There’s something about homemade! It has that real flavor. With our school children we want to give them something real, tangible, and practical for this coming school year. A backpack filled with school supplies and their school books.

With your help we will reach the goal of providing our school children a back to school backpackalong with their school books and school supplies. Your special one-time gift of $25 will make all of this possible. We will purchase the supplies in Haiti and the Dominican Republic and assemble the backpacks in country then distribute them to our students. This will make the project more efficient. It will be as good as homemade. Originally we wanted to have friends of New Missions ship backpacks to our office and then ship them overseas, but the cost for shipping and processing exceeds the value of the contents. We want to be efficient in our ministry and also support the local economy in Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Between now and the end of October we are counting on you to tell your friends and family to sponsor a backpack and send a child in Haiti back to school with their school books, school supplies, and most of all, the joy of knowing that Jesus is the real answer for life.
